Valdobbiadene and its riches

Valdobbiadene, a small town near Treviso, offers many interesting things to taste and see beside its renowned Prosecco Superiore.
Among these, an architectural marvel worth a visit is certainly Villa dei Cedri: an Art Nouveau building born at the end of the nineteenth century as a spinning-mill, located just a few hundred meters from the main square. This villa hosts many wine-related events, concerts and exhibitions. Its park also houses a play area for children and a romantic lovers' bench.

At Colle San Vito di Mirabello you can admire the house of Nicolò Bocassino, a famous son of Valdobbiadene who became pope with the name of Benedetto XI.
In Valdobbiadene we take good care of art and historical architectures, such as the Church of San Gregorio Magno in Colderove, where recent restorations have brought to light some eighteenth-century crosses and a sundial.

Nature lovers will certainly enjoy the splendid Pre-Alpine ridge: 12 thousand hectares of uncontaminated territory between Valdobbiadene and Serravalle, connecting the Po valley to the Dolomites. This area is deemed worthy of special protection by the EU as it is located on several birds' migration routes and home to numerous varieties of endemic plants. The Valdobbiadene Consortium organizes frequent guided excursions through the hills, whose magical landscape has recently become a UNESCO heritage site.

Among vineyards and fields you will find, on a hilly hermitage, the Osteria senz'Oste (Tavern without Host): a structure constantly supplied with simple, genuine and excellent quality food, to be enjoyed alone or in company. The peculiarity of this place is the lack of an innkeeper: visitors are free to serve themselves, picking from shelves and fridges whatever they prefer and leaving a free offer as payment.

"Andar per Malghe" is a route through hills and mountains leading to hidden marvels: traditional places of pastures and typical mountain dishes, with the breathtaking views of the Dolomites and the Venetian Plain accompanying the walk.

Do you just want to spend a joyful afternoon? You can try the Pianezze Adventure Park, suitable for children and adults alike, or rent bicycles (including electric ones) to visit this magnificent place in an alternative way.
